The best way to fill a weekend is by planning ahead. The first thing to do is check the weather for the upcoming weekend so you can plan events accordingly. Sites like business insider, suggest planning three to five anchor activities each weekend, but not planning out each hour of your weekend. Planning may feel overly structured for the weekend, but your to do list doesn’t have to contain restrictive options. You can plan things like reading time, a hike or walk around the park, a stop at your favorite sandwich shop, and you can easily intersperse more structured events like parties or museum visits.
Pay Attention to What’s Happening in Town
A great way to take advantage of your weekend is by seeing what your local community has planned for Saturday and Sunday. Local lists are usually posted the Monday before, so simply Google what to do this weekend in your city and find some great suggestions. Also pay attention to seasonal activities like farmer’s markets, or free museum days.
Check Your Junk Mail
If any of you have ever made the mistake of forwarding your mail to a new address you’ve been swamped by a deluge of junk mail (we’re talking about snail mail here, not email, just to clarify). If you’re looking for something to do this weekend though, take an extra minute to look through your mail. You’ll often find coupons for local restaurants, fliers for local events, and even neighborhood parties advertised in your mail.
Don’t Hesitate to Schedule a Lazy Day
Jam packed weekends can be really fun, but we understand that by the time Saturday rolls around, often the best planned weekend is a lazy weekend. If you’re eager to catch up on Game of Thrones, or sleep, take advantage of your time off to do so. In instances like this we recommend having one lazy day and one productive day. Or have a lazy day, and an active night. Just be sure to balance your relaxation with activities so you can feel fulfilled at the end of the weekend.
Don’t Hesitate to Schedule a Pampering Day
It easy during the workweek to let things like haircuts, and grocery shopping slip to the waist side, but during the weekend take some time to check off your true to-do list. Cleaning your house, doing your laundry, cashing in your gift certificate for a massage, are all great ways to feel ready to go for the week ahead.
