Share the Love (Songs)

The power of music to evoke a feeling or memory is truly unparalleled. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, team Wishlist has compiled a love inspired playlist chalked full of songs that give us the feels.

We’ve asked our team (as well as our friends at ThrivePass) to send over some of their favorite love songs.  Submissions span all musical genres and generations; and being that both love and music are universal languages, you’ll also see contributions from as far as India & Guatemala!

Click here to listen to our full Share the Love (Songs) playlist or simply find it below!

My Christmas Wishlist Experience

My Christmas Wishlist Experience
say money can’t buy happiness. I don’t know who they are and sometimes I think they are full of it, because a pile of cash sure would make my life easier. However, if you had the choice between a nice cash bonus or an opportunity to go experience something that you would never indulge in for yourself, which option would you take?

I have been working for Wishlist for over a year and half and if there is one thing I know how to do, it is how to sell the value of an experience. You can not put a price tag on the thrill of a new adventure or buy the stamp that it leaves on your memory. Sure, an adventure Wishlist will cost you $99, but the place those moments hold in the story that is your life, truly, goes unrivaled.

As many of you know, Wishlist works with over 50 Colorado based companies to help reward their employees for hard work and dedication. Luckily, for those who work here, we reap the benefits and get to experience Wishlist first hand. This year for Christmas, my gift far exceeded my expectations. My oh-so-wonderful superiors gifted me with two suite tickets to an Avalanche game of my choice and a night at the Four Seasons Denver.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I love hockey, specifically the Colorado Avalanche. The fact that they knew this was perfect gift for me, well – brownie points, Wishlist. I jumped on the opportunity and used my gift on New Years Eve. What better way to spend the last night of 2014? The answer is, there wasn’t.

I attended the game in my new MacKinnon jersey with my best friend at my side. We made our way up to the club level of the Pepsi Center and entered our suite. Awaiting us was complimentary food and drinks. Score. The Avalanche played an awesome game, beating the Philadelphia Flyers in overtime. It doesn’t get much suiter than that!

Now, let’s talk about the Four Seasons for a second. That hotel is the definition of exquisite and certainly not a luxury I would treat myself to unless received as a gift. It was the cherry on top of an already perfect night. New Years Eve is a hectic night in the heart of the city, but the amenities they provide made for a seamless evening. Waking up to a beautiful view of Denver was certainly an ideal way to kick off 2015. Oh and did I mention you can find them on our Premier Getaways Wishlist?

Four Seasons

It’s safe to say this NYE was one for the books. An evening I will forever remember, cherish, and associate with an everlasting feeling of appreciation from my team at Wishlist. It’s been a big year for us. We’ve grown leaps and bounds, and have all invested so much time and energy into our success. While we work hard to promote how incomparable the gift of an experience is and how valuable showing appreciation to your staff can be, I’ve never believed it more.

Guest Post: Rezora Goes Ice Climbing

We take great pride in sending people on awesome experiences. Receiving great feedback from a Wishlist recipient is like Christmas Day around here. One of our corporate clients, Rezora, gifted their employees with the opportunity to try out a wide variety of our activities over the holidays.

Below we have featured a blog from the two employees who selected to go Ice Climbing this past weekend. As always, we want to hear about your experiences. Share them with us below in the comment section, or by connecting with us on Facebook and Twitter.

First off, a huge THANKS to Wishlist for making this adventure possible!

This weekend Matt and myself took a short road trip about 2 hours southwest of Denver to Lake George to climb a giant wall of ice. The drive up to the wall was absolutely gorgeous. We weaved through a canyon that was coated perfectly in a white blanket of snow only to come out to fields of sunshine. We couldn’t have picked a better day!

The town we met our guide, Logan, in was a little, well, small. Logan wasn’t kidding when he said it was 5 buildings. However, one building was a café/pizzeria and had amazing chicken fingers and wings. We had to start the day off with some healthy fuel, right?

Upon seeing the wall both Matt and I were a bit skeptical. That’s it? After spending a little time gearing up and learning the basics as well as a few tips from Logan we tied in and were off. About 30 seconds into our first climbs, we realized the wall might have looked small, but would be a huge challenge.

We had a great time challenging ourselves and tackling the wall. It’s a completely counter-intuitive sport that requires an immense amount of trust in yourself and your gear. If you ever get the chance to make a trip and try it out go for it! It won’t disappoint.

Introducing Upslope Brewing Company

upslopeUpslope Brewing Company.Wishlist is excited to announce our newest vendor, This Boulder-based microbrewery can be found on our Urban Living Wishlist. It is no secret that Colorado’s economy is booming with microbreweries. Much like Wishlist, Upslope is a local business through and through. The brewing company was founded in Boulder in 2008 and is locally distributed.

All of their microbrews are bound to have your taste buds hopping! My favorite? Their limited release, Belgian Style Pale Ale. This microbrew, along with all eight others, are featured in Upslope’s signature can. All of their beer comes canned, in effort to support the on-the-go active lifestyle in Colorado. Upslope’s lightweight cans keep beer fresh and are easy to recycle. The environmentally conscious company works to reduce waste, from the beginning of their brewing process, to packaging and distribution.

Upslope has two taprooms. One is located in north Boulder and the other being east Boulder. Their handcrafted, flavorful beers can be found in restaurants, bars, and liquor stores across the Front Range. 2013 was a big year for the local brewing company, who received an award from the Great American Beer Festival Pro-Am Competition. They also held a fundraiser to benefit a local elementary school that was badly affected by the treacherous flooding. Additionally, Upslope was ranked #5 on Boulder County Business Report’s list of fastest-growing Boulder companies in 2013.

Upslope & Wishlist: Upslope’s Wishlist offer is good for two people. So grab a drinking buddy and head over to their Flatiron Park location. Each person has the opportunity to try five unique Upslope brews with their own taster flight. Once you have selected your favorite, enjoy a full pint in your very own souvenir glass. With this offer you also will receive a VIP behind the scenes tour.
